Hari PMI, Tokoh Solo Sumartono Kenang Perjalanannya Mengabdi di PMI, karena Banyak yang Butuh Darah

SOLO – Hari ini 17 September menjadi momen penting bagi lembaga dan orang-orang yang mengabdi dalam Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI).

Ya, 17 September menjadi tanggal resmi didirikan PMI dengan ketua Mohammad Hatta.

Terkait itu, Sumartono Hadinoto CEO PMI Solo kembali mengingat pengalaman yang tak terlupakan olehnya selama mengabdi puluhan tahun di dalamnya.

Sumartono mengaku pernah membantu ayah dari tetangganya yang butuh darah.

“Pada waktu itu tepat pukul 03.00 pagi, segera saya membantu, tetangga saya ini berlari sambil membawa darah mengantarkan ke dokternya,” kata dia kepada TribunSolo.com, pada Jumat (17/9/2021).

Cerita lain, juga dialami Sumartono saat menjenguk mertuanya yang sakit di salah satu rumah sakit di Semarang.

“Dulu waktu mertua saya sakit di Telogorejo Semarang, pas makan siang saya melihat gadis remaja menangis. Saya hampiri, kemudian ia bilang orang tuanya butuh darah saya tidak tahu harus ke mana dan tidak punya uang,” ungkap dia.

“Nah itulah bagaimana darah menyelamatkan sesama, maka dari itu kita harus terus mengamankan stok darah,” sambung dia.

Sumartono juga berharap pada peringatan Hari Palang Merah Indonesia ini PMI tetap diperkuat oleh relawan-relawan yang solid.

“Mengingat Indonesia sering terjadi bencana karena letaknya di Ring of Fire, yang sewaktu-waktu bisa terkena bencana,” jelas dia.

Selain itu harapan lainnya adalah Sumartono berharap PMI tingkat sekolah, kuliah dan masyarakat umum tetap terus mempunyai kesadaran untuk mendonorkan darahnya.

Dia berharap tingkat SD adalah Palang Merah Remaja (PMR), tingkat kuliah yaiti Korps Suka Relawan (KSR) dan yang terakhir adalah Tim Suka Relawan (TSR) untuk masyarakat umum agar konsisten mendonorkan darahnya.

“Bisa terus berpartisipasi dalam bagian dari PMI,” harapnya.
